Some photos by taken by Chris Freudenberg on an early 1950s Jowett Jupiter sports touring car tour to Alsace & The Black Forest: leaving from London via the Eurotunnel, meeting other owners of the same make & model of car, a trip of more than 1000 miles, going to CHAMOUILLE near Laon in Northern France 20th July, continuing to VERDUN 21st July, going on to Lake TITISEE (two nights there) near Freiburg in Germany’s Black Forest Sat 22nd, with Sunday 23rd free (some activities were proposed, on Monday 24th crossing from the Black Forest back to Alsace (me via the car museum in Mulhouse) to OBERNAI for two nights (near Strassburg), leaving Obernai Wed 27th for SEDAN, going on to LIGNY-EN-CAMBRESIS (near which is the Matisse Museum at Le Cateau-Cambrésis) Thur 28th, returning Fri 29th via Eurotunnel back to London. I was able to include on the trip meeting other friends not on the Jupitour, visiting Freiburg and visiting Günsbach where Dr Albert Schweitzer grew up & retreated to from Africa (see http://www.schweitzer.org/english/assoc/asegun.htm ).
