Take 2 - How it all began
The Redditch Active Independence Club initially got together to develop an independent social life for its members. Whilst thoroughly enjoying the meals out, skittles evenings, game nights and discos, the group also came up with the idea of setting up drama workshops. With a little help from Cath Round, Transition Pathway Co-ordinator for Adult & Community Services (Learning Disabilities) at Worcester, and our various partners, this pilot scheme got off the ground in June, and was able to continue until now with the support of FLOSS funding.
Following the success, & amazing achievements of the group during the time they have been working, LNF funding was secured by Indigo arts to launch the project fully from Jan 2007.
The Take 2 workshop is aimed at young adults with learning disabilities & always welcomes new members.
Contact Cathy on 01527 830728 for further details.
As with all indigo workshops, teamwork, confidence building and a sense of community are an essential ingredient, and participants are encouraged to share experience, and offer support to other members as well as working towards self-development.
