musicmaker
is currently run through two workshop groups each week. Monday 6pm - 8pm for 7-11 years & Thursday 6.30pm - 8.30pm for 12 years upwards.
Workshops are open to anyone, whatever your singing experience, all we ask for is commitment & enthusiasm!
Guaranteed to build confidence whilst developing teamwork and social skills - musicmaker develops a whole lot more than a singing voice!
Participants are encouraged to work together as a whole team as well as exploring smaller ensemble, & individual work at regular intervals.
Movement is an essential part of the musicmaker experience, with most of the singing expertly choreographed. This encourages a further level of involvement in the music whilst developing the ability & confidence to sing in varying positions and situations.
Where workshop participants have instrumental skills these are utilised to enhance the vocal experience and performance. This has led to the recent addition of a ‘house band’, which is now a regular feature of shows.

drop in sessions
Drop in sessions have been set up either side of the Thursday core workshop hours for older members to further develop vocal & instrumental skills, as well as composition, dance and dramatic presentation, and undertake additional rehearsal for performance.
These are facilitated by musicmaker staff, volunteers & visiting musicians who share their skills & experience with the young people involved and include personal vocal coaching & guitar tuition.
Opportunities are also available to older members to develop technical and stage management skills.
performance
musicmaker undertakes three major productions each year, as well as many community performances. It is essential that workshop participants are fully committed to this process.
All performances are accompanied by live music, with a professional band in place for major productions.
Workshops are open to all, there are no auditions, or previous experience necessary. It is important that you are aware that musicmaker relies on teamwork - and so all we ask for in return is the energy, enthusiasm and commitment that comes naturally from all those who participate in our workshops!
