Good on ya, mate!
The Chuck and Mo Spot
Meet the newest member of our family. Bruce is a 7 week-old Australian Shepherd. He’s oh, so cute and sweet. In just the past two days that we have had him, we can see that he extremely smart and good tempered. He even sleeps through the night in his pen. The only time he has whined so far has been when he is in the pen and we are eating. I guess Bruce thinks he should be able to snack with us. That’s a habit we will definitely have to break as soon as I can get Chuck to stop taking him out of the pen when he is whining.  Anybody with advice on how to stop whining from the crate, please post a comment.

Why did we name him “Bruce”? Well, we tossed a few names back and forth and nothing would stick. And then, Monty Python came to the rescue. I remembered the skit where all the guys are Australian professors but they are dressed up in their bushmen khakis and hats with the dingleberries. The Australians are drinking Fosters Lager and calling each other “Bruce”. A new guy shows up and introduces himself as Frank. The rest of the guys tell him, “...Frank? That’s going to confuse things. We’ll have to call you Bruce...”.  Ok, it may not be funny right now but trust me, you’ll be giggling in an hour and won’t know why. Anyway, since our puppy is an Australian Shepherd***, we thought “Bruce” was appropriate. Either that or he can be a kung fu crime fighting dog.

*** Yes, we are aware that Australian Shepherds are not really from Australia.
Here’s Bruce’s first vet appointment. He’s a little blurry since he was wiggling all over the table.
First bath...he was a little stinky when we brought him home.
Here’s a couple of photos of my boys today in the front yard (sans Newman - kitties do not care to leave their domain).  Surprisingly, the kitties have been rather nice to Bruce. At one point today, all 5 of us were hanging out on the couch.
In other news, I dyed some yarn last weekend. two of the skeins turned out OK. I kind of like the random flecks of white. The third skein was kind of eh. I’ll definitely have to over-dye it. These will go into my Etsy.com shop when I get it set up.
