New Year Catch Up

The Chuck and Mo Spot
Happy New Year! How long into the new year can you say “Happy New Year” without being annoying? Anyway, I thought I would do a quick catch-up since I have been absent for quite some time.
For Thanksgiving we took a road trip to Phoenix to spend the holiday with my family.

Bruce came along for the ride and was one well behaved puppy.
We ate Mexican food in El Paso, Texas and even had a chance to take a side trip to White Sands, NM.
The Arizona sunset was lovely but by the time I took this picture, I was ready to get the heck out of the car. We spent almost two entire days in my car and visited just about every rest stop between Houston and Phoenix.
One of the cool things that we did while in Phoenix was visit Taliesin West, Frank Lloyd Wright’s winter home and studio.

Here’s my mom admiring the pool.
Grass seemed to be pretty rare in Arizona so we were glad to find a dog park near my Mom’s neighborhood with a nice large field of it - just for doggies!
On the way home we got to drive through some snow in west Texas but Chuck didn’t seem to mind.

I, on the other hand, froze my patootie off.
In December, Chuck put up our Christmas lights in the rain. while...
... Bruce and I chose to sit on the porch and drink beer.
I thought Chuck did a nice job with the lights despite the lack of help.
For his birthday we went out for dinner and drinks with friends.

Here are Chuck and Corrie enjoying a fishbowl of Chupacabra’s.
I learned that I am not cut out to be a cake decorator.
Since I had a break from school, I managed to get some knitting done.
On New Year’s Eve we learned that eggrolls can also be used as microphones.
