-Video “Trailer” for your book

Our author video trailers are multimedia productions for your book. We’ll bring your book to life utlizing the same tools used in Hollywood films- graphics, animation, text, voiceover, and music.

Your audience — the press, book stores, and the general book-buying public— can watch your trailer at your web site and at online sites such as You Tube just like any other video.  For maximum effectiveness we recommend producing your author trailer well in advance of your book’s release to build anticipation.

Scripting, storyboarding, image gathering, and sound track development are all handled by Mooncusser Films and we’ll personally record you, the author, or your professional voice talent, or you can send us your recording by email.  We work closely with you and your publisher all the way through with steps for adjustment and feedback built in.

Whatever your genre,
contact us to help you create an engaging Author Trailer that connects your book to media and booksellers and encourages viewers to order or pre-order your book.

Top 10 Author marketing recommendations.

1. Have a web site

Every author needs a Web site. If you don't have one, you need to create your site as soon as possible. Even if you use other online promotional tools, your Web site is still the most common place that people will go to for information about you and your books. A Web site doesn't need to be expensive or complicated. For less than $10 a month, you can host a site with your own domain name. If you don't have web design skills or software, look for a web host that offers easy-to-use site building tools such as GoDaddy or Yahoo! Web Hosting.

2. Optimize your site for the search engines.

The first step in getting the attention of search engines is to create quality content. After that, how you position and format this content can make your site even easier to find. Incorporating carefully selected keywords; making the proper use of bold, italics, and linking; and including your keywords in < h1 > header and title tags will endear you to search engines and generate site traffic.

3. Start a blog and sustain it.

Blogs, also known as weblogs, have moved beyond their original status as online personal journals. Blogs are now viable business tools that can help you develop an audience interested in your books and writing services. And did you know that blogs are very search engine friendly? Create yours quickly and easily with a blogging tool like TypePad, WordPress, or Blogger.

4. Create an RSS news feed.

If you have a blog, you should also create an RSS feed. Simply put, an RSS feed enables you to regularly publish headlines and links from your blog for others to view through an RSS reader or other Web site. RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication; an RSS feed essentially "syndicates" your content to those who are interested in reading it. There are several advantages to RSS feeds. For readers, they make it easier to keep up with the latest content on all the blogs, podcasts, and news sites that you follow--all in one place. For writers, they can greatly increase your site traffic and audience loyalty.

5. Create a podcast.

Think of a podcast as an Internet radio show on demand. By creating your own podcast on a topic related to your books or writing specialty, you can develop an audience that is interested in what you have to offer. The term podcast comes from the words iPod and broadcast. However, the iPod aspect of podcasting is misleading. You can listen to a podcast on an iPod or other MP3 player, but listening on a computer capable of playing audio files works just as well. Check out Hipcast or Odeo to get started podcasting.

6. Get your book at Amazon.

Taking advantage of every promotional opportunity Amazon.com offers writers is an essential step in promoting your work on this important site. A few ideas include developing a comprehensive and captivating book detail page that encourages sales, creating Listmania! lists and So You'd Like to ... guides, participating in AmazonConnect, and writing online reviews of books or products that complement your offerings. Each of these ways of contributing to the Amazon community also gives you a chance to promote your name and website.

7. Get your media kit online and off.

An online media kit is a must for book authors. Your kit provides one-stop shopping for journalists, reviewers, and readers interested in your book topic. A top-notch kit could include a bio, book excerpt, media clips, author Q&A, story ideas, and more.

8. Write your own press releases and distribute them onlie.

Whether you want to promote a new book, your writing services, or a Web site, an online press release can introduce the web-based world to you and what you have to offer. Online press distribution services like PRWeb utilize RSS feeds to distribute your release to journalists and other media outlets including Google News and Yahoo! News. Not only can you attract media attention by issuing a press release, but potential readers can find you too.

9. Draw up a comprehensive online marketing plan.

By setting goals and developing a written plan, you're more likely to stick to ongoing online marketing activities. This consistency will pay off in increased exposure, opportunities, and sales.

10. Use dynamic tools such as audio, video, and multimedia on your Web site as promotional and educational tools.

You don't want to create a multimedia overload, but some well-chosen interactive content can make your site more memorable to your visitors. An audio or video of you speaking about your specialty, a multimedia book preview, or a digital brochure presenting your writing services can leave a strong impression on site visitors and make them remember you when they're ready to buy.
