i was born in switzerland where i graduated in fashion design and patternmaking. soon after graduation i moved to spain to learn it’s language and to wait for my visa to the united states. a year and a half later i settled in the bay area where i worked in the garment industry for many years.
my interest in jewelry design started when my brother sent me an exquisite emerald from his travels through south america. the stone called for a unique design, but none of the commercial settings appealed to me. years later i noticed a jewelry casting class offered by the park department. i pulled the emerald from my treasure box and created my first metal project. i was soon hooked on working with metal and enrolled in the metal art/jewelry program at california college of the arts in oakland.
presently, i work out of my studio creating one of a kind pieces of jewelry and tableware.
