Las Vegas
De retour de cinq jours à Las Vegas... Vacances agréable, mais certes pas reposantes dans cette endroit qui a tout de l’illusion. Fascinant, épouvantable, trippant, quétaine, époustouflant ou sexy, tous les qualificatifs sont bons pour décrire un ville qui connaît un taux de croissance bien au-delà de la moyenne étatsunienne. Sur Las Vegas Boulevard, la fameuse «Strip», on vous fait accroire d’être à Venice, New York ou Luxor, tout en faisant miroiter un bonheur éternelle qui sortira d’une machine à sous ou viendra avec le gros lot d’une table de blackjack. À travers tout le tourbillon de consommation ostentatoire, bien peu de place est laissé à des actions, aussi simple que soit, pour développement durable.... Pas un seul bac de recyclage et certainement pas de priorité au piéton. Voir les photos.
Back from a five day vacation in Las Vegas... Fun vacation, but not at all relaxing in a place where everything is an illusion. Fascinating, extraordinary, fun, cheesy, breath taking or sexy all qualifications are good to describe a city that has one of the highest growth rate in the United States. On Las Vegas Boulevard, the infamous “Strip”, visitors are projected to Venice, New York or Luxor. At the same time, eternal happiness is presented as coming out of a slot machine ou with the jack pot at a black jack table. Through the vortex of conspicuous consumption, little effort is given toward sustainability, as simple as some actions can be... Not a single recycling bin and definitely not a pedestrian-friendly place. See the pictures.
