What’s happening in the shop today??

Come visit Dedham Fibre Works located on the 2nd floor of 638 High St., in historic, beautiful Dedham, MA, just twenty miles from downtown Boston. Works are always in progress. If you don’t see what you like, ask for an item made especially for you. No pressure, if the finished good doesn’t suit your fancy, you don’t pay...how un-scary is that?
Most items you will find at Dedham Fibre Works reflect the astonishing beauty, function and durability of an ancient art form rediscovered. Theories abound, but most authorities agree that wool felting began in Central Asia thousands of years ago. Initially, it represented a means to provide protection and warmth against a harsh climate. Eventually and as the human spirit evolved, the form began to be not only functional but extraordinarily beautiful as well. Our shop seeks to recreate the function and beauty of the art of wool felting.
On occasion, guest artists add their own items to our inventory. Shibori dyed silk; art quilts, jewelry and other items can be found in addition to felted hats, pocketbooks and other items. So, come, browse, enjoy.
Store hours are Wednesday through Saturday; 11:00 am to 5:00 pm.
