There is no point going further by yourself because you know you are already lonely from a lifetime of isolation and trenchant thoughts that would leave the most morose bitter and twisted with a lingering scent purloined on a sojourn to Elysium when your Heavenly Father stole some sleep, exhausted by the heavy deed of having to create the world as we know it in seven days instead of the seven weeks He was promised when He agreed the deal. No, there is no point in going any further when your bad deeds are snapping at your heels.
Yes, the road is straight and long, it almost looks as though it is clear, the way ahead is simply being able to allow oneself to be taken by the cool and rather surreal breeze that often comes by late in the evening when your loneliness is sleeping, pretending to be dreaming that the place from which it had fought so hard to escape from was once again its homeland.
