I managed to be part of one of them. Alks (aka Chazm), a friend of mine here in London, bought the tickets for him and me although he had a hard time accessing the website which crashed continuously.

From our hotel, we took a taxi to the rainbow warehouse. It stopped right in front of it. We got out and my first thought was “What?”. It was a normal bar that you’d go in to to have some drinks. We walked through and found a little stage at the back but I knew that that couldn’t be it. It was way small. Well, I asked some dude and we finally did find the place, it was a few steps down the street. As we arrived down there we got to see Liam doing his soundcheck about an hour before entrance time. This was cool to watch.

As soon as the doors opened we went into the warehouse, which was painted all over and got ourselves a spot all the way in the front.

4 hours later, midnight...
The intro is played, Liam comes on stage and he does his thing. A new tune is starting to play and Keith and Maxim also come onto this tiny stage. I don’t want to go into detail and there is actually much more to say but here are some things that really stood out for me. For one there is the new track called ‘Unstoppable’. It is a pretty simple tune, but it just has something that creates such an intense and mean vibe - exactly what I want, its just so prodigy. It totally kicked Breathe in the nuts, which I could have never imagined. Maybe its just the fact that its new and fresh. I saw ‘Diesel Power’ live for the first time. I would have never expected such an intensity on that track. I knew it would kick, but this was more than that. I wish we had more hip hop/rap like that on the radio. Poison of course did it again, they should never take it out of their set list. The bass on the chapter 2 part was just mad. Another new track called ‘Warriors Dance’ started to play and how it was build up completely grabs you and takes you into the prodigy trance state, your heart begins to pound even more and your eagerly waiting for what comes next - beautifully done. All in all, the set list was the best you could ask for. Another interesting fact is that there were 1 or 2 professional camera men filming the gig. Who knows where this footage will end up.

In the end I can say that the concert, other from the other concerts I’ve been to, started to become more and more energetic throughout the show. The energy grew during the gig and reached a climax when unstoppable was played (for me at least). But of course, prodigy never bring something boring live, its always fucking mad, it always makes you wanna jump around. As Maxim once said ‘The smaller the crowd, the more intense the buzz’ - I think I agree. Being a long time fan and going to a 800 people small gig like this with a very small stage created an exciting closeness making this gig even more unique and unforgettable.

Once again, the Prodigy did a massive live show. And yes, I will be there next time...

Here some youtube clips to look at. Pictures are going to under Photos.

Before the gig (official)

Dead Ken Beats
Dead Ken Beats

On 5th of April I flew from Bremen to London (Stansted). From Stansted I took a train to London. It was still early in the morning. At the trainstation I of course first went to Burger King and ordered a Crispy Chicken. But Wait! They didn’t have any Crispy Chicken, they have them nowhere in whole fucking England! Damn, that sucked so I just ordered the Chicken Royale (it tastes OK). Anyways, I took the tube (underground) to my hostel in the Barbican district. The hostel is pretty big, it has a gym and they serve breakfast and dinner. But in general it’s pretty uncomfartable and not what you would call good looking, well it’s a hostel.

So my first day of school was on the 7th. The university is two tube stations away from my hostel. About a 15 Minute ride. It’s very, let’s call it cosy. All the rooms are locked and secured with a code because there is a lot of expensive equipment. The class I’m in is great. Many cool people from England and around the world.

So yeah, I’ve been walking around everyday of the last week for at least 3h per day just looking at everything (but I havn’t seen Lil Ben nor the Fergie Bridge yet). At the moment I’m looking for an apartment with two of my class mates.

Alright that’s that. London so far -> massive!

Peace out
