Charlotte Perriand, perhaps best remembered for her work under Corbusier, is undoubtedly one of the greatest women of the 20th century. She’s the kind of multi dimensional, intellectual working gal that makes my heart pound. As far as dream clients go she ranks right up there with Andree Putman, Louise Bourgeois and Kiki Smith.
The show is at the Centre George Pompidou until the 10th. I have no idea where it’s going next, but see it if you can. The exhibition begins with Charlotte’s early work and culminates with her Brazil Pavillion from the 1980s. There is a documentary and ample computer models of her interiors and architectural projects.
