Since 1885 Michigan Tech has been a premier mining engineering and mineral processing school.  This site is to promote our programs and also the local student SME chapter ( Society of Mining Metallurgy and Exploration ).  Quincy Mine Host in the background is a visible reminder of why our school is where it is.  Today we need to help of all students, staff,  alumni, and companies to keep this program alive.  The mining industry continues to grow and jobs in the mining industry are at all time high.  The need for mining engineers and mineral processing engineers is apparent if industry is to survive.
