                              Full Challenge Course Facilitator Training

Time:   8:00am - 5:30pm Daily


Training Focus:  This training focuses on the core competencies necessary to effectively facilitate a challenge course program at the level accepted as standard in the field.  We use our professional experience and expertise to develop training workshops that are intensive, professional, create a balance between technical skills and effective facilitation skills, as well as incorporate ACCT Operational Standards.  Upon completion of the ACCT National Certification Standards for Facilitator Competency, OEP training's and workshops will meet or exceed these standards.


     Technical and Safety Skills: Low Elements, High Elements, Belay Systems (static, dynamic, group),    

                 Equipment (care, & equipment), Basic Rescue Technique


     Facilitation Skills: Team Process, Sequencing, Spotting, Creating an Emotionally Safe       

                 Environment, Goal, Setting, Strategies For Engaging the Entire Group and   

                 strategies for team decision making

     Risk Management

     Policies & Procedures

Who Should Attend: This training is appropriate for people with no previous formal challenge course training or those having let their training laps for over 1 year and are looking to build a new skill set for the outdoor challenge course industry.  Training is limited to 15 participants.  register early to ensure participation.



Tuition:  $485.00  /  $435.00 early bird with 20-day advance registration.    Tuition includes personal bound book with all training materials, harness, helmet and all necessary equipment for use during the training, certificate of completion, breakfast daily. 


OEP training programs are designed to develop competent, “think first” practitioners with core skills and knowledge in challenge course facilitation.  OEP’s primary goal is that upon completion of this training program, participants will have a strong foundation from which to continue this learning process of experiential facilitation.


Upon Completion of this training program (including practical & written competency exams) participants will leave with:

                           Rock Climbing: Top Rope & Rescue Skills for the Facilitator

Time:  9-5pm Daily


Training Focus:  This two-day course is designed for individuals who have previous climbing experience and are now interested in learning the technical and safety applications for a more comprehensive skill set.   This entry-level training prepares you with the fundamentals for setting up top rope sites (using natural anchors) and climbing and rappelling safely.  Topics covered include risk management, gear (proper care & use), knots & hitches, anchor assessment and equalization, belaying, climbing, rappelling and basic rescues. 



Location: Castlewood Canyon State Park (or TBD based on weather)

      Gear, knots, belay, and anchor variations

      Facilitation of Top Rope Climbing and Rescue

      Facilitation of Rappelling Program and Rescue

      Risk Management
