On behalf of the Notre Dame de la Mer Parish Core Team, welcome to this very special information site.

The purpose of this site is to keep the Wildwoods’  community as up to date as possible through these transitional times.

In these times of mixed emotions and various hopes, we recognize our responsibility as priest co-conveners is to communicate as transparently as possible with two great communities with a long history.  The communications of the Core Team and me is essential for the healing, easing of fears and a renewed sense of possibility as Assumption and Saint Ann’s come together and form Notre Dame de la Mer Parish.

Above you see our mission statement for the new parish.  Our values to live out the mission is meaningful worship, lifelong formation and community outreach.  Each, intertwined will guide us as we live our hopes and mission to gather together and welcome and embrace all God’s children because of the love of Jesus Christ.

Recognizing that we must live our new parish’s mission even now, we want to reassure both communities that the Core Team will collaborate as equal partners to steer the merging process to conclusion.  The Core Team will also be especially sensitive to the traditions of each community as it develops plans for the new community.  As this new community that will be known as Notre Dame de la Mer Parish evolves, we will always be enriched by the many traditions that Saint Ann’s and Assumption have offered the Wildwoods.  We will still maintain the Church names for each church.  That is, Notre Dame de la Mer Parish will have two churches with two wonderful names that honor Mary and her mother.

We hope this site alleviates any unnecessary anxiety from misinformation.  We hope this site allows you to be informed and you can embrace the vision for our future. God bless you.
