In October 2008, Bishop Joseph Galante commissioned a group of parishioners -- along with Father Michael Field and Father Joseph Wallace to bring together two wonderful parish communities into one.

Since that time, the Core Team has worked diligently to do as the Bishop commissioned.  On November 5, 2009, the Diocesan Merger Review Committee visited the Core team and the Pastoral Councils of both parishes to ascertain the readiness of the parishes to merge and create Notre Dame de la Mer.  The Diocesan Merger Review Committee gave its unanimous approval and now the final preparations are in motion to create a new, vibrant parish community that will serve the Wildwoods.
