Welcome to Agent 42X:
In 1997, I created Agent 42X, a collection of stories that showcases Jonathan Slade and the life that surrounds him. From all the characters I created, Agent 42X was my favorite. He would express himself, take action and react in a situation as I would (or at times, would like to). When I set out to create this book, I didn’t look too hard to find the mood of the story. It is one that I wanted to tell for quite some time.
The story of Agent 42X revolves around a government agent named Jonathan Slade who loses his fiancee during an assassination attempt that was meant for him. With a guilt too strong to handle, Slade resigns from the government sanctioned Havoc Unit, in an attempt to come to grips with his past and face the consequences of his future. As the story progresses, you’ll find an intricate plot that will test Slades ability to uncover the truth behind his fiancees death and the men responsible for it.
I chose this type of story to tell because it shows the elements of survival, faith, and hope. In all our lives, we have come across times of hardship and loss. They hurt us and drag us down. Yet, the act of going on; progressing further no matter what the consequences, is one of the most fulfilling acts of all. Agent 42X explores these aspects of life as Slade searches for the truth behind his fiancees disappearance...
