Wouldn’t you know it, but it was Father’s Day on the 17th.
As fate, and my best friend’s wedding, and my flight schedule, would have it, I was in Wisconsin at this time.
At first I wasn’t going to take my gun with me but I decided, “Why not?” It’s always good to have your gun with you if you want to target practice, even if you can’t carry.
On Sunday I bought a box of fifty rounds and my Dad and I took a trip to the back yard to do some shooting.
We started out on a rest at fifteen yards.
He was shooting a Browning Hi-Power in 9mm. I was shooting my Kimber Ultra CDP in .45.
We both put about a magazine through our guns. Before moving off of the rest and shooting from fifteen yards.
We did rapid fire, point shooting, and though my Dad didn’t join me, I did moving and shooting as well as drawing and firing and mag changes with live rounds.
All rounds that I fired were accounted for on the target. The groups may not have been perfect, but I never missed the target once.
We had lots of fun and it was good practice.
