So, I had my kid, moved (again), took some time away from guns to try to get a hang of this whole “Mom” thing and the other day I went to my gun-related inbox.
I didn’t actually count how many emails I had but there were over sixty PAGES of emails with twenty-five emails per page. You do the math, I don’t want to, but I’m pretty sure that’s a lot of emails.
I spend two WHOLE days (sans feeding my child and restroom breaks) answering emails and still haven’t even scratched the surface.
After about the 169th email I discovered how much I missed gun-talk. Because of the birth of my boy and the move I haven’t been working at the gun shop and therefore haven’t been getting in my gun doses. It felt good to get back into all the caliber wars, holster talk, 1911 vs whatever debates and so on.
So, now, here I am, trying to get back to one of my first loves: guns. But you’ll have to forgive me if I throw a little Mommy talk in there because I also am LOVING being a mother.
For instance, I took my son to the gun store the other day to pick up an anniversary present for my husband (a story for another day) and as I browsed the handgun counter (my favorite place to be, by the way) I couldn’t help but impress upon him all the wonder of his Mommy’s passions.
“That’s a Ruger LCP. There is a Bearcat. Oh look, sweety, a Glock 19. And that’s a Springfield XD.”
The guy standing next to me looked as me like I had six heads, each with their own, purple eye-ball in the middle of the chin!
Hey, he’s got to start learning sometime.
Either way, I have a TON of new holsters to go over, some guns I can’t wait to talk about, some carry methods for pregnant women and new moms that I’m dying to discuss. I wish I could do it all in one swoop but that’s the joy of blogs.. You can come back to them whenever you want.
By the way, the picture above is of my boy.... Isn’t he the cutest guy EVER?!?!
