Thing 2 starts school

Thing 2 has been ready to start at his new school since we visited in April.   And, he only started getting more and more anxious once Thing 1 started school a few weeks ago.   We went out to the sewing store last week to pick out fabric for his new school bag (no backpack allowed... too hard for the teachers to deal with!?!?!?!).   I was hoping he’d chooses something cute.   But, what does he go for?  STAR WARS!!!   Oh brother!

I did line the inside of the bag with some nice black linen that I bought for myself to make a bag like Aunt Jessica’s (back to the sewing store....).  Also made a shoulder strap out of the same linen.
Pick up...perfectly choreographed.    Pull up at the front door with the kids name hanging from the rear-view mirror.   The teachers pop them in the passenger side.   You pull around to the other side of the parking lot and buckle them in.    This is going to be GREAT on rainy (or snowy?) days!
When we got to school, we HAD to check out the awesome playground.   Look at that incredible playhouse.   I would TOTALLY live in it!
Waiting in the hallway for class to start....
Posing with Snoopy (the school mascot) at the “Snoopy School”
Greeting Mrs. Stelmaszek and giving her the picture he drew for her.
Checking out the classroom and making lots of new friends.
It was a great first day of school  and Thing 2 can’t wait to go back!!!
