Databases

Database: is an organized collection of information stored on a computer. The user can extract subsets of the information or can query the database. Data bases can include qualitative information (e.g. articles or images) or numerical information. They can be stored on spread sheets that can then be used to sort, select and process the information. While a spreadsheet can act as a database, the distinction for the purposes of the PSOW is that a spreadsheet would be something created by the student whereas a database would be accessed and queried by the student.
