We have agreed to try an implement policies to get more people on to the dance floor to enjoy Country Dancing and Ceilidh Dancing.  To this end, we have
1.    collaborated with the other RSCDS branches in Angus to hold a Dance Festival for Primary School Children each March.  The increase in the number participating means that in March 2007 we will expand from one to two venues in order to accommodate about 650 children.  We forecast the need to go to three venues in 2008.
2.    We now run a class for less experienced dancers and beginners, in order to encourage more people to participate in Ceilidhs and Scottish Country Dances with enjoyment and confidence, and hopefully to graduate to more advanced classes.
3.    We hold a Country Dance for all each year, which in 2009 will be held at the Old Church Hall in Montrose on May 8th.
4.    Our Chairman has produced a book of Angus dances with music that includes “A Tribute to Bunty” (Bunty Wilson is the dance teacher in Montrose), with music “Olwynne’s Fancy” (Olwynne Taylor is Bunty’s piano playing partner).  Also included is “Flower of Forfar” that was successful at a Forfar Charity Dance and many others, including 6 new dances for beginners and children.  The book is available as a free download.  Orders for hard copies should be sent to mimnoble@mac.com, but the book will not be printed until Mark Noble has received at least 25 orders.
