There are days and then there are days.........
Wow been awhile since I last blogged here on the old website! Had a small disaster with an old standby glaze. It happens. This has taken a chunk of time trying to figure this out as I have been using this glaze for 15 years. Is it me? Is it the clay? Is it the shelf life of the glaze? We will see.....
The studio is BUSY!! I‘d post pictures but it looks more like a tornado touched down so I will wait until I mop and get ready for the next batch of pots. Besides the dog is just filthy and hates having his picture taken!
Tomorrow I am headed off to the Alabama Clay Conference in Huntsville. Off to do rounds in the morning, log numbers then on the road by noon. Hoping to hit Louisville by 6 p.m. Where I pick up two other potters; Dolita & Sebastian. Hopefully we will arrive in Huntsville by midnight. Why would I drive 12 hours to a clay conference? Val Cushing!
Well Robin Hopper too because he is such a potters potter and a great gardener! Val Cushing and Byron Temple are two potters who made work I drooled over. I never had the chance to meet Byron Temple or see him at work. Val is still here, making wonderful work and this is a rare chance to see one of the greats! I’ll post on the conference when I return on Monday.
