The name Bauxbeaux in one form or another has had a real history in my recent life. My first and favorite Yoga instructor is Brazilian and she says that a Bobo is a clown in Portuguese . The topic came up because I was trying to sell my house in  Cardiff- By - The - Sea , Ca through a broker named Mark Bobo. He told me that his families real name was French and spelled Beaubeau or something, but they moved to Texas and the Texans just could not get their minds around THAT so they Americanized it. I sold the house and would not have had my puppy if I did not.

In addition, I had a flakey customer named Raymond Bobosik who was a Frenchman with Slovak parents. His nickname was Bobo and he was indeed a clown, but I still loved him.

Finally, my niece married a Senegalese man whose people were Pular. Their word for Baby was Bobo or some such and he thought I named my puppy for that.
