Paddlefest Solo Men’s ten mile race winner John Craun paddled from Perry to Minburn in one hour and eleven minutes. He paddled a kayak that he built himself. John has won the Iowa games paddling competition in the past and has raced in the Florida Everglades. His time will be difficult to beat in future races.
first place winner in the women’s solo competition, Diane Lowry, was first place winner in the Iowa games in 2007. Diane paddled close behind John with a time of one hour and nineteen minutes.
First place in the men’s tandem 10 mile race went to Joe Warnock and and Steve Sohn with a time of one hour, twenty four minutes and 42 seconds. Also in the picture is K J Rebarcak of Davenport who placed third in the women’s solo division.
The Danish entry in the mixed tandem, Sam and Michelle Hathaway won their class with a time of 1:30:34.
