Sporting Masters
Sporting Masters
The Sporting Masters Enterprise Project’s prime objective is to influence, in a positive way, the lifestyles of children.
Our initiative helps develop young people by using sport to educate in many aspects of modern life.
Children take ownership of the project at the very beginning and working in small groups set out a full programme of events. They grow in the knowledge that their efforts will bring rewards and personal fulfillment. Earning these awards are tremendous building blocks for their own future.
The children discuss with local service agencies the available options for health and fitness programmes. Communicating with business people can bring out the children’s hidden talent that can have a real lasting benefit. Individuals gain self-respect, self-confidence and a real sense of achievement. Learning organizational and marketing skills with an emphasis on a ‘can do attitude’ to instill self-reliance is an asset for future employment opportunities.
Whatever the ‘action’ planned by the working groups, it is always good and having been originated by the children it can be a positive influence on their well being. By being aware that adults are listening and responding to them, they gain such a boost to their confidence and feel able to take an active part in regenerating the health and well being of their community. When the project is fully underway it brings the wider community together in ways so sadly missing in many parts of the country.
The Primary School Enterprise Initiative
St Kessog’s Primary and Braehead Primary in Dunbarton were the first 2 schools to pilot the Sporting Masters Enterprise with amazing results.
