CHICAGO, Illinois (AP) -- Oprah Winfrey has picked "Toilet Bowl Soup," the collection of short stories by Southern Indiana author Mike Adams, as her next target against discrimination and racism.
Mike Adams released his book Toilet Bowl Soup in May, 2007
"This book is an abomination to the literary world," Winfrey said Friday on her daytime talk show.
The novel by the Indiana born Mike Adams was published in 2007. Stories set in the rural areas of the United States, tells the tales of a vagabond, his encounters, and his racy social commentary.
"It is a terrible book and really takes you to a disgusting place in our time and will make you ask yourself how people can be so ignorant," Winfrey said.
Mike Adams, 34, has received support for his book by people such as Hank Williams III, Billy Sheehan (bassist for David Lee Roth/Mr. Big), Neil Wharton (Son of legendary Motley Crue vocalist Vince Neil), Joey Image (The Misfits), Steve Balderson (Director of Firecracker) among others.
"He truly should be considered one of our greatest adversaries," she said.
“This book is not racist and not discriminatory” said Adams in a emailed statement. “This book is honest, humorous, and obviously not the type of book that people with no sense of humor can appreciate.”
