The mind...

...is such a powerful tool.  Lately, and for the past six months, I have really been putting my tool to work.  I have been creating my life exactly how I want it to be.   How do I do this? By only thinking of that which I want.  I no longer think of the things in my life that I do not like or want.   I do not focus on them.  When I focus on what I do want I attract more of that into my life.

This is the basics from the “Law of Attraction” book that I have been glued to since last February.  It has had an amazing affect on my life.  I feel more joy in my life than I have ever felt before.   If I am not feeling joy or happiness, I look at what I am thinking about, and always it is something that I do not like or want in my life.  I then immediately change my focus.  I have total control over my emotions because thoughts create emotion. If I change my thought, I change my emotions.  It is a simple as that.   Now I didn’t say it was easy but it has certainly gotten easier over the past months of practice.

One way to help me stay on track is to write down every “segment” in my life right before I am about to do that segment.  For instance:  If I am about to drive somewhere, I will take out my note pad, (I keep one in my house and my car) and I will write down exactly what I want to happen.   I  always  write, “My drive to the store (park, home etc.) will be safe , easy, and quick.”  (This is how I always want to experience a drive somewhere.) Then when I get to the store, I might write, “ I will find everything that I need easily and effortlessly and be out of the store in 15 minutes or less.  Everyone I meet will be so friendly and helpful.” There you have it....I had just created my life exactly how I wanted it to be.

At first writing everything down seemed a bit tedious but I loved seeing that what I wrote down happened exactly as I wrote it down. This is called “Segment Intending”. Writing every segment down, and intending for it to happen. It  is like making a mini goal for every segment of my life.  We all know the power of writing down goals.  This is the same.  Only the goals are very short term - they are for NOW.  As time goes on, some segments I not even need to write down anymore; they  now automatically happen (such as the example above) because I have written them down so much that I know they are going to happen the way I want them to!

Now some people might say, “Well it might of happened that way anyway.” And, yes you are right. That is possible.  But why not create it instead of it happening by default or chance?  I mean everyone has had those days where something goes wrong in the morning and the entire day follows suit.  It is because we are focused on what went wrong and that attracts more things going wrong. Unless one is aware of this, and we change the frequency that we are on, we will find ourselves saying, “I stubbed my toe on the edge of the bed this morning, and everything went downhill from there.”  No one enjoys this.

So, I create my life daily.  And I love seeing how it unfolds exactly as I want it.  Sometimes, it doesn’t go my way exactly, but I am ok with it. I switch frequencies and move forward thinking only of that which I want.   The power of the mind is incredible, and if you do “Segment Intending”,   the power of writing it down is even more amazing.

The key to experiencing joy, and that which I want, is to allow it to happen for me.  And to experience joy in all situations, the key is to allow others to create their lives as they want it to be, and not let it affect me.  Can you grasp that one? It is a bit more challenging, but so worth adding to the practice in my life.  I’ll write more about the subject of “allowing” later.
