Party of 4

Well it took quite a few emails to get everyone gathered for a fun little dinner party during the week...I mean how tough is it to get 4 busy women together?  Well let me just say one thing, “It was tough”.  That being said it was well worth it!

I started gathering with these particular women awhile back and being a very creative  group we all hit it off immediately.  Terra Muzick, whom I have known for quite some time introduced me to the other girls.  Terra is a very whimsical artist who designs stamps.  Some of her designs include really cute little animals and angels for everyday stamps as well as different holidays. She is so creative!  Justyna Wilmore paints.  And to me her paintings are very sensual.   I love her nudes. They are figurative and abstract  at the same time.  Ellen....well Ellen could very well be an artist in the true sense of the word, however, to me, her art is in the way she expresses herself when relating to people.  And her laugh, well let me just say it is infectious!  You can’t help but love her.

The three other girls  have been friends for at least....well, let me just say a very long time - I am the newbie to the group.   I so love meeting new women  and getting together often....female bonding.  The term may sound corny but it really is a wonderful thing when girls get together - there really is nothing like it.

Well, we started off the evening with what else? Eating and drinking of course!  Besides that, I love cooking for my friends which I don’t do as often as I’d like.  The conversation flowed and so did the wine and laughter.  A quick trip out to the yard to pick and devour a few ripe peaches, and we settled back in for dinner.  More chitchat, more laughter and of course “Dessert” my favorite meal.  Most of my friends know that I love to eat dessert first BEFORE a meal.  However, we ate the usual way.  But sometime in the near future I am going to start off with dessert at a dinner party, and end with the meal....hmm...I digressed - that is for another time...
...anyway...Let’s get to the dessert: Fresh Peach Cobbler - Southern Style - you know with all of that sugar, butter and cinnamon and even more sugar - throw on top a bit of Dulce de Leche ice cream and you have the ultimate in carbs....no worries, we just need to fit in all of those clothes that Terra brought!   Uugh!  Ok, the clothes....Terra, generous Terra, brought some clothes that she got at a clothing swap, and did not want anymore - bags of the stuff. Never heard of a clothing swap?  This is the deal: Gather all the things you do not want anymore, bring them to a swap, mingle and have fun with other fabulous women,  swap clothing, go home with a few pieces or a whole new wardrobe.  We love clothing swaps.  Anyways, we got to pick out what we wanted before she brought them to another swap to swap!  Wasn’t that nice of her?  We all foraged through them nicely.(This does not usually happen at a regular swap where women are grabbing, trying and bagging as quickly as they can!)  We all found a few lovely things.  Thanks Terra!

The evening ended with all of us running around my house looking for Ellen’s car keys only for Ellen to realize that she lost her car keys in our kitchen garbage can.....don’t ask.  But it was a good laugh and a great memory as I write this.  Looking forward to more Girls Night Out!
