When I was eight years old, I drew in an old ledger book. My medium was crayon. No other means of expression interested me. I knew then that my aim was the conquest of the limitless boundaries of art.

When I paint, I feel uninhibited. Lines, gesture, color, space, movement, texture, mixing mediums explode. My decisions are made on canvas, usually not pre-planned. I paint because it is what I enjoy most and it is the one constant in my life.

Art is universal it influences our everyday lives, which witness love and hate, war and peace, isolation and belonging.

I presently enjoy painting on wood and canvas using various mediums. My paintings begin as sketches surrounded with narratives of color tones. In their simplicity, I find familiarity. In their multiplicity, I find open doors to bridges of new meanings of expression. Painting is a feeling, a release of emotion. The process evolves until something in the work itself tells me to stop. All of my paintings come from places where I have spent considerable time and to which I have developed a strong emotional attachment. I find constant inspiration in nature, theatre, and in the political-social events spanning generations.

My artistic influences have been Richard Diebenkorn, for his vibrant colors and composition, and Egon Sheille, I appreciate the directness of his work, his expressionist idiom, and how he conveys his most intimate thoughts and private visions. Vincent Van Gogh, Picasso, and Edward Hopper, Giorgio Morandi are also mentors. I have special affinity with the work of the Early American Modernists-in particular, Marsden Hartley and Arthur Dove for the spiritual feelings invoked in their work.

I am available to commission paintings for corporate offices, and international business enterprises. I also enjoy personal portraiture, connecting subjective and objective.

And of course, the challenge is always my next painting.
