“I travel to Ireland a great deal, I am attached to the countryside and it’s inhabitants.  In my travels to the Beara peninsula in southwestern Ireland, I discovered many people in this area have family in Montana, particularly in Silver Bow County. (Butte, Montana)  Further research showed that many of these family connections go back over a hundred years and primarily have to do with copper mining.  I have been painting in both places, attempting to create paintings that represents these connections.”
