The Haggard’s FREE Papermodels

What are paper models?

Well, they are many things... but HERE they are NOT origami!  These are scale (or semi-scale) models of favorite subjects. I used to love to build quality plastic models but the cost was getting too high and the time was getting too precious.  Also, I had plenty of my own ideas about fanciful craft and buildings that I wanted to see but “scratch building” was not always the best vehicle for that expression.  Paper models have been around a long time.  I will not go into it here, there are plenty of good sites that talk about the subject with more authority than I.  I will link to many of them at the end of this page.  All of the models on this site are of my own design, many of them are of subject matter that is also from my own imagination.  Many models (all of them on THIS page) are free for you to download and build: all you need is scissors and white glue.  Some of the models are for sale through PayPal; drop me some cyber coin and I will mail you the models.  Give a few of the free models a try, you will get hooked!

FREE MODELS of Various Subjects

The models on this page are an eclectic mix of subjects.  All are free for you to download and build.  They are NOT in the public domain however.  Though some of the subjects are trademark and copyright in their final form (hence they are free), the geometry and model construction is my own copyright.  You may have them freely, but you may not  give them away yourselves, print them for sale, or transmit/copy them in any way, paper or electronic, without my permission and the permission of the original art’s copyright holder.

Doctorin’ the Tardis!

Here is a reworking of a classic papermodel that has made the

rounds.  First published in the Doctor Who Technical Manual, the

classic papermodel was then recolored by Matt “Iron Cow” Cauley.

His art was GREAT but the original model was pretty lame.  Here is

Matt’s art (with his permission) on a new paper engineering.

MAJOR MATT MASON in Hako

When I was a kid in the late 60s, “Space” was THE thing.  And THE

toy that I begged and pleaded for was Major Matt Mason and all

his gang and gear.  Matt, er, I mean, The Major is presented here

as a simple Hako model.  If response is good, perhaps he will one

day be joined by his fellow astronauts and some of their tools and

vehicles. This model is on one sheet of paper.

GUNDAM’s HARO in Hako

Here is another one sheet model.  The long running and many

faceted GUNDAM seres has run in Japan for thousands of

episodes (if not years).  This is the floating ball robot HARO

that accompanies many heroes (mainly Ammaro Rey, the

inventor) on many an adventure.  Haro is mildly intelligent

and has been seen able to perform various tasks with protruding

limbs much like R2-D2 in Star Wars.

NASA’s WARP TEST VEHICLE

This is a two page model that was inspired by a NASA painting

that hangs at the Glen Research Center in Ohio.  You can also see

painting at the NASA website, but it moves around on that site.

It is a proposed reactionless thrust craft; in other words, a craft

that has no jets, rockets, or exterior moving parts.  Using super-

magnetism it is hoped the craft can “warp” space to gain its

momentum.  Though the plan is for “warping” space, there is not

a real expectation of faster than light travel with this proposed craft.

STAR WARS: Gonk Droid

The Gonk droid was seen in almost all the Star Wars films.  It was

most often seen in this configuration, but that isn’t exclusive.  Why

is it called a “gonk” droid?  All it ever says is “gonk” of course!

Lucas maintains that it is a droid that gives power, basicaly a big

battery on legs.  Well, whatever... if your into it, here it is.

STAR WARS KOTOR: T3-M4 Droid

From the video game Knights of the Old Republic, here comes

grandpaw’s version of R2D2.  This little astromech is loaded.

Though it is only a one page model, it is packed with detail.

STAR WARS: R2-D2 Astromech in Hako

and the Mouse Droid in Hako

Here are a couple of hako models from the original movie before

it was called episode 4.  They are both in one page, but by

downloading this file you get both pages.  R2 needs no introduction

to anyone that was conscious in the 80s and 90s.  The mouse

droid however was only prominent in the original movie and then

for only a few seconds.  Mouse droids are seemingly couriers that

transport data and small objects around large bases and ships.

Shouldn’t WiFi or Bluetooth do that?

WINSLOW FIRE ENGINE 3

This was my first computer aided design model.  In the 90s

I served as a Firefighter II and EMT for the city of

Winlsow, Arizona;  and as an instructor/evaluator for

the Arizona Fire Marshal’s Office.  This model in 4 sheets

is of the Pierce Saber custom ordered by the city.

It was my favorite engine of the six I served on.

THE ALIEN in Hako

One hobbyist called this the most frightening cute model

ever seen.  It is the Alien from the Alien movie franchise.

Hakoized, he’s kind of cute... well, not so nasty at least.

Comes with optional protruding proboscis.

Build one, and scare the neighbor's cats.

I couldn’t resist the possibility...

Michael The Haggard in Hako

Yeah, that’s me... in my wild eyed preacher mode.

The shirt has my name in Chinese:

He Mai Ke (Hu My Ku).

The alien xenomorph does not come with the download.
