THE HUNGER
A movie of the Irish Famine.

1846. Edward Buckley is
an English soldier stationed
in Ireland at the height
of the great famine.
He helps carry out the wishes
of a cruel land agent.
One night his life changes
forever when he finds himself
in the care of Brigid Molloy,
the wife of a man he jailed.
Edward will come to see Ireland’s tragedy through very different eyes as his feelings
for Brigid intensify.
The Irish Famine
was one of the most
formative catastrophes,
not just in Irish history,
but in World history.
Yet, 160 years on, it still has not found it’s place on the silver screen.
We believe an audience exists for this movie among the huge diaspora in the USA, Europe and Australia who claim descent from Famine survivors.
