Will’s Blog

...and his Mommy does too.  Or at least that’s what I tell myself when I try to come up with a reason as to why the blog hasn’t been updated in two months.  Wow, has it already been 2 Months?!  Time is flying by and Will is getting bigger and more grown-up every day.  Where did my little baby go?

Some of the highlights of the past couple of months:

Will had his first big fall (I’m sure just the first of many).  He faceplanted on the sidewalk.
It actually looks a lot worse than it was -- he cried a bit early on, but stopped pretty quickly and didn’t cry at all when I cleaned it up.

He started walking!  Yes, he did take a few steps just a few days before his first birthday, but after that didn’t do much on the walking front -- just a few steps here and there.  Then, last week, he decided he was tired of crawling around all this time and started walking.  It is pretty cute.  I thought I had a video, but can’t find it, so I’ll include one next time.  In the meantime, here’s one of him walking with his Daddy.

We went to this Cookie Magazine kid’s concert last week.  They had a few businesses exhibiting as well, one of which was the “Rose Petal Cottage”.  Will loved it and spent most of his time playing there cooking on the stove, pouring tea, putting the laundry in the washer, etc...  (I’m hoping he keeps the interest and will start helping out around the house soon). The woman who was running the exhibit asked us, “how old is she?”.  Pretty funny.  He was so cute, I’ve included some pictures here.  The bib is because he’s been drooling like crazy, if he doesn’t have one on, his shirts get soaked through within minutes.

Will’s started saying a few words.  “Mama” and “Dada” have become staples, although I’ve got to say, I never get tired of hearing them.  He’s also been saying “DA!” for his friend, Dara, that lives a couple houses up the street (when he walks by her house he shouts, “DA, DA!!”.  “Lo” for Lola and “Peeessee” for please.  I’ve included a video here -- the look Will gives me at the end is the, “mom, you’re SO annoying look”...I feel the same way after hearing my running commentary on the video playback.  It only gets worse in the next clip, if you can mute, I’d advise you to do so...
My dad made Will an amazing toy, inspired by one he made for Matt when he was little.  It’s called “the box” and is a wooden box on wheels with every sort of gadget attached to it -- bells, a steering wheel, doors that open, a mirror, etc.  He sent one to Will and one to Theo as early Christmas presents.  Will LOVES it.  He has been playing with it non-stop, opening the doors, dropping the golf balls down the holes, etc.  This video was taken just after he opened it, so he was still exploring.  Now he’s found out where everything is and how it works and has devised all kinds of fun games, like hiding his stuffed animals inside and pulling them out of the top, etc.  Thanks to Pops for such a meaningful, heartfelt gift.

Will’s got a lot going on...
