The Honolulu House is open for the season!
 
Hours are as follows:
May:  Th, S, & Sun 12-5
Fridays 12-7
 
June 1-September 1:
Daily 12-5 (Fridays until 7)
 
September 1-October 31
Th, F, S, & Sun 12-5 pm
 
Admission is $5 for adults
$4 for Seniors and students ages 12-18
Children under 12 are free when accompanied by a paid adult.
 
Marshall Historical Society members and their guests enjoy free admission to all of our museums!
 
Private tours can be scheduled by calling 781.8544 or by emailing the Director at least 24 hours in advance.  Special rates do apply.  Contact us for details.

Michigan Museum Association Event
 
The Michigan Museum Association has chosen to have their Summer Event at the Honolulu House in Marshall!  The event will take place on Friday, June 26th, starting at 6 p.m.  Tickets are $35 (this is a special members only price being offered to members of the Marshall Historical Society).  Included in your ticket is dinner, two glasses of wine, a special dessert, a tour of the Honolulu House and the American Museum of Magic and the opportunity to bid on some spectacular items in their silent

Be a Tourist in your own town!
 
This Saturday, May 16, you will have the unique opportunity to tour all of the museums in Marshall and three in Battle Creek for free!  What a great opportunity to see all the rich culture we have right in our own back yards!  Marshall museums will be open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.  The Kingman Museum, Kimball House and the Art Center of Battle Creek will be open 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.  Don’t forget about the Re-dedication of the Fountain at 11 a.m., SOFO celebration from 3-7 p.m. at the Dark Horse Brewing

First Fridays are special this summer!!
 
The Honolulu House will be expanding its hours this season!  We will be open every Friday evening until 7 p.m.  Every “First Friday” of the month we will be unveiling a new exhibit!  Friday May 1st come and see an exhibit centered on our Brooks Memorial Fountain, which is set to be re-dedicated on May 16th at 11 a.m.  The first Friday in June will be an exhibit on loan to us from the Kingman Museum in Battle Creek!  They will in turn have an exhibit on loan from us as well!  Each exhibit will

Window Workshops
 
Here are two opportunities to learn how to restore your historic windows and how to replace your windows with historically accurate new windows.  Both workshops are free for historical society members!  The dates are as follows:

With all the uncertainty about what will happen with the elimination of HAL, I want to share a statement made by Senator Cameron Brown on the Senate floor yesterday.  As you know, Senator Brown introduced SB 973, enrolled as the new enhanced historic preservation tax credit law.
