Concerts a la Carte

Flying Forms, a New York-based early music ensemble, announces its new Minnesota concert initiative during the 2009-2010 season.  This initiative, called Concerts a la Carte, reverses the concert paradigm of an audience going to the musicians and instead brings the musicians to their audience.  In collaboration with Flying Forms, hosts will reinvent what a concert “is” by presenting a performance in any venue they wish - with music and event components of their choice. Directly challenging existing barriers to hearing live classical music, Flying Forms’ Concerts a La Carte allows any interested host to have a classical music concert on their own terms.
Joining Flying Forms in Concerts a la Carte will be violinist Jubal Fulks, Professor of Violin at Luther College and harpsichordist Gabriel Shuford, Visiting Professor of Harpsichord at Luther College.
