As part of Gotham Early Music Scene’s “GEMS 2009” Flying Forms will present two new pieces, commissioned by the group, for period instruments. Composer Peter Winkler’s “Sarabande: Tambeau” is a beautiful tribute to the victims of 9/11 and Nissim Schaul’s “Nuevos Misterios” is an exciting combination of acoustic and electronic sounds as harpsichord and baroque violin are amplified and transformed through electric guitar effects pedals.
