Vranje

The southernmost city of Serbia, Vranje (population 77,500) lies in a valley about 24 km from the Macedonian border, with Kosovo just to the east. During the week of our Easter spring break, my friend and I took the over 5 hour bus ride to attend the opening of my art show at the American Corner in Vranje. While there, we walked around the town, enjoying the Turkish Ottoman architecture, Roma (gypsy) quarter, and picturesque views from the Markovo Kale fortress. Read more at my travelblog.
