Dubrovnik

Dubrovnik

Located near the southern tip of the Croatian coastline and near the Bosnia border lies the historical city of Dubrovnik. Dubbed the “pearl of the Adriatic”, Dubrovnik continues to draw tourists to its beaches and architectural treasures within the Old Town. In fact, the Old Town is considered a UNESCO World Heritage site. Founded over 1300 years ago, Dubrovnik has held an important role in sea trade. In 1991, the Old Town was bombed and shelled, causing great destruction. With the help of international aid, the majority of the town has since been restored - almost to a point that it is difficult to see anything ever happened. When walking along the city walls, the panoramic view of the city reveals the new tiled roofs.
