Croatia - Spring 2007

Meander through the narrow streets of Old Town Split, with its Roman ruins, medieval town squares, and fish market. go to website

With nearly 6,000 km of coastline, Croatia seems to have gotten the best of former Yugoslavia. Dotted with bays, inlets, and islands, the coastline is a favorite among tourists. The Mediterranean climate, beaches, varied stunning landscape, and seaside old towns have something for everyone. In the spring of 2007 I visited Split, Hvar Island, and Dubrovnik.

Take a day trip from Split via ferry to Hvar Island, basking in the sunshine, lush landscape, seaside promenade, and a Venetian fortress.
