Belgrade

Located on the confluence of the Danube and Sava Rivers, Belgrade has been of strategic importance since pre-Roman times. Along the wide pedestrian street Knez Mihailova and along Krajla Petra street, one can find a beautiful array of buildings, many of the Secessionist style.

Late spring through autumn, cafés set up outdoor seating areas - the best way to enjoy a coffee or beer without the omnipresent cigarette smoke. It’s also a great place to people-watch and enjoy some street music.  Belgrade is known for its night life and has a thriving array of cultural opportunities.

Downtown Belgrade

Within easy walking distance are the main important sites such as the Kalemegdan fortress, Trg Republike, St. Sava and Mark cathedrals and Parliament building. The bus and train station are also located downtown. To get to my neighborhood Senjak, I take a tram.
