MELANIE is both a published writer and producer who has written for television

Broderbund, Davidson, Jim Henson Productions, E*Trade,
Mattell, Vivendi Universal, Starwave, Saban, McGraw Hill,
Lifetime, Knowledge Adventure, Match.com/Dr Phil, 7th Level, Mercury Records, Geffen Records and FOX.
She was executive producer for the Success and Spirit channels
for Deepak Chopra’s MyPotential.com. She scripted numerous
episodes for the FOX animated series ‘Where On Earth is Carmen Sandiego?’ - including one episode which received an
Emmy Nomination. She also scripted episodes of the pre-school
series Old Macdonald’s Sing-a-Long for LIFETIME. She had a development deal with
HENSON for an original TV series and has consulted with numerous companies
to help create original properties and character sets.
Melanie has contributed to many interactive titles and although she hates to
admit it- that would include AMERICAN IDOL...the game. She served on the
Advisory board for the Second Annual Children’s Interactive Media Festival,
sponsored by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and the
Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences. Melanie has published several travel
articles. At UCLA, Melanie has been an instructor for The Writer’s Program and
has guest lectured for other professors. Also at UCLA, she has conducted a
seminar on ‘Convergence’. As an expert on convergent media, Melanie has
been a guest on NPR’s ‘Talk of the City’ several times. She has lectured for
the International Interactive Communications Society on writing for
multimedia. In addition, Melanie has a background in the performing arts and
is a Guild member. She also has an extensive background in the music business
in artist relations, has sung back-up vocals, written and produced liner notes
and has coordinated the production of several platinum and gold records.
BUT MOST OF ALL...she is just a fool for travel.
