Who We Are

Hey, I’m Jim Matthews, the director of HYACKS. Check out some sweet music with Switchfoot, POD, Thousand Foot Krutch, and Mat Kearney! I love watching the Chicago Bears beat the Vikings (which happens often)! I love hanging with my wife, even though that may mean chick flicks sometimes.

My name is Melanie Matthews. I love working with HYACKS--my small group rocks! At HYACKS you’ll see me sporting a camera around my neck, so smile!!! When I’m not taking pics, I’m hanging out with my husband, (the good looking one at the top of the page). I’m also a nurse in the Buffalo ER--one place I hope never to see you.

HYACKS is designed for students attending any local high schools. We at HYACKS seek to provide a safe atmosphere where high school students can meet and discuss the issues that they deal with on a daily basis. We focus on helping students create a value structure and to examine the physical, emotional, social, spiritual, and mental areas of their lives. We encourage students to think about what God has to say about their lives.

Hi, I’m Gary, the senior member of HYACKS. I love long walks on the beach. I also enjoy watching chick flicks with my wife--You’ve Got Mail, Cinderalla Story, etc. I also love shopping at Kohls and especially JC Penney. My favorite hobby is shopping at Cub after midnight. Hi I’m Lynda! I love helping out with HYACKS! God is good! When I’m not, you can find me working with my dear husband David, or hanging out with him and our sweet cockatiel Pikachu.I love reading, crocheting, skiing & sailing. I also love listening to music and singing. I enjoy most anything chocolate & love popcorn! Look for me on Wednesday nights; I’d love to talk with you!

Hey, I’m Derek Eiklenborg. Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I enjoy the ballet, musicals, and opera. I like to go to the movies by myself and talk very loudly. My favorite Jonas Brother is Joe. I love any kind of boy band--I’ve tried out for all of them! I once played Peter Pan in a play, and especially enjoyed the tights. See you on Wednesday nights!
