This year has been quite different, and it will always be different because of newcomers to ITSC, the workshops and the people involved. Thanks to a wonderful team and helpers this year it has come together really well. Our task has come together (mind you the final test will come when we try out each group’s “iPod on the move” clues.

Last night’s social function was a good chance to meet some people from my own workshop properly and discuss the general life of teachers and about not keeping resources to yourself (especially in technology). This is sometimes the case, and it makes it quite difficult when a teacher leaves a school with all the knowledge and then the process has to begin all over again to train individuals or a group to use certain products/software applications.

I look forward to catching up with people online in a variety of ways in the next 12 months (although I might struggle to make it the next ITSC!)

Today’s keynote was by Stephanie Hamilton from Apple. She talked about technology in a changing world and provided some inspirational books and stats to inspire the audience. It was the start of the three day workshop and everyone looks keen to get stuck into their particular topics. I am presenting with Wes Warner from Brisbane (another ADE) and our groups have started their “Ipod on the Move”.

I have been a few presentations today, and some of them have been amazing.

Loved the first showcase with Mike from Yorkshire and Steve Sidaway from texttools from the UK. I managed to get my video (breaking an egg) used as a podcast.

Here is the link:

It was great seeing a little mp4 camera to record video on...and then transfer to blogs and podcasting. (Try videoing you playing passages for your students, and then posting it!)

I talked to the Librarians conference today about the different issues regarding using iPods in the library. A few interesting things were brought up like playing music through iPods into public places. Must look into more!
Definitely seeing more options where it could be used.

Here is the PDF link:ALIA2007.pdf
Here is a link to the iPod systems of the future....
www.apple.com/education/products/ipod/learninglab.html

Here is the video clip from GSCU (that was meant to play!!!)

Below is the clip of cookie and the monster
