Margaret Byrne, of Beti Films, has a diverse range of talents as shown through her work in the film and music industry.  As a director, photographer, and editor, Margaret creates an intimate portrayal of the world utilizing her extensive travels in Africa, Asia, Europe, and South America.  In 2003, she produced and edited a documentary following the production of Mary J Blige’s 2003 album Love & Life. This DVD was packaged with her album and distributed worldwide.  Margaret edited several projects for Rada Film Group. “The Violence”, a documentary following the stories of three Haitian women in Brooklyn, worked to spread awareness of the domestic abuse in the Haitian community.  “Slaying Goliath”, is a true account of a young Harlem basketball team on a quest to win a national title all the while struggling with where they came from and how far they will go.  Margaret photographed Elton John, Sting, Jay Z, Stevie Wonder, and Alicia Keys.  She shot and edited TV shows for MTV, BET, and CNN. She produced national television spots for Sanctuary and Sony recording artists including Chaka Kahn and De La Soul.  Margaret shot and edited a live series for MTV Base Africa which led her to direct music videos in West Africa.  Currently she is developing a production company in Nigeria.  Her first project is a collaboration with Link a Child to produce a Nigerian TV series focusing on the growing epidemic of motherless children in Nigeria.
