Welcome to Paddlebender:
Join us for some outdoor, activity, adventure, fun we are a Canoeing School (ORCKA), whitewater, flatwater, lakewater training/courses, GPS training & guide (guiding) service in the Sioux Lookout area, including Hudson Bay watershed and Northwestern Ontario.
Paddlebender is a canoeing school and guiding service located in Sioux Lookout, Ontario, Canada. We mainly focus on training courses to allow people to enjoy traveling by canoe on the myriad of rivers and lakes that flow across Northwestern Ontario and the rest of Canada. Our courses focus on safety, fun, environmental stewardship and skill development.
We are an organizational member of ORCKA (Ontario Recreational Canoe and Kayak Association) and we offer many of their canoe programs. Our canoe instructors are all ORCKA certified and provide excellent learning opportunities for our clients.
We do offer guided expeditions for those interested in venturing north towards Hudson Bay and the Arctic. Our instructors/guides have a vast knowledge of the Northern Ontario rivers that flow into Hudson and James Bay. On our guided expeditions we are passing through some very remote areas yet we make sure that we are always aware and inclusive of the First Nations People in planning our trips. In doing so, we tend to offer cultural experiences using local people whenever possible.
Here are some of the rivers: Albany River, Otoskwin River, Attawapiskat River, Pipestone River, Asheweig River, Winisk River and the Fawn River.
