The people at Hitachi were fantastic. The strap line for the lunch was “Eat as much as you can store” very nice play on words given their business space.
Before food, it was a matter of letting the guys who were getting floor space get setup. The idea was companies that required lots of storage were given expo space, that allowed them to sell the ideas behind their companies but gave Hitachi the ability to sense maybe where the market might be going / needing storage. Further when these companies wanna expand to grow their businesses if successful they, Hitachi hope, will think “Hey we need more storage, Hitachi bought us lunch and are trustworthy... lets get some Hitachi storage.
As an attendee, there was a tonnes of swag. I remember a lecturer I had some years ago always, always would wear MS, shirts - and he always claimed he’d picked them up at this conference or that conference and conferences are great because you get free clothes. Nice one Dennis.
