Is Caroline’s romance for real?

In a wildly unexpected move, Sweet Valley author Kate William and plotmaster general Francine Pascal made this volume’s B Story both really important and related to the A Story! Caroline confronts Jessica with a letter she found (in the Wakefields’ front yard), which suggests that Mrs. Wakefield is seriously considering a job offer that would move the whole family to San Francisco! Jessica is so mad at Caroline that she tries to ruin the girl’s life, but hey, what did she expect? Elizabeth is also distraught, but encourages a craftier route to staying in Sweet Valley. The twins do everything they can to remind their parents how great Sweet Valley is, with tourism brochures and food from the town’s best restaurants. I wish I could get my hands on some of that!

Miraculously, the scheme works, though Mr. and Mrs. Wakefield find their girls’ antics a tad transparent. Seriously, though, who could leave Sweet Valley for a hell hole like San Francisco, with its pro-bay atmosphere and all those handsome men who never hit on you even a little. Plus, I hear it rains there sometimes...

The story that we almost forgot.
