“Look who’s after Roger Barrett!”

* Until I was about 18, I thought the term was “crummuffins”. It didnt make sense to me, but I went with it anyway.

Yes, thats a popped collar.
And yes, its hilarious.

Once again, the Sweet Valley High series has brought us a B Story entirely unrelated to the main storyline. This time the subject is the beautiful and mysterious Regina Morrow, the girl who is so good at speaking and reading lips that you hardly notice she’s deaf. It certainly doesn’t seem to bother the older gentleman she’s been leaving school to hang out with! The two have been spotted hugging in the high school parking lot and having conversations downtown.

No one is more interested  in a possible May-December Romance than Lila Fowler, who’s had it in for Regina since the Morrows came to town. She starts a smear campaign of rumors by claiming the older man is Regina’s love interest.

Regina is eager to stop these rumors (which are false) and tells Elizabeth the truth: the man is a magazine exec who’s “discovered” her and has given her the cover of the next issue of Ingenue.

For reasons of modesty, Liz is sworn to secrecy until the magazine comes out. This happens before the books ends, but not before Lila tries to convince the man that she should be the cover model, to which he replies, “you wouldn’t like how flat your face would look in photographs.” Yessss.

The story that we almost forgot.
