Hello, I am Jo Ann Kevins, principal at McCall Primary. I come to McCall with over 20 years of experience in education. I am very excited about being a part of this wonderful school and carrying on the school’s mission, which is “By building on tradition and creating excellence, every child will be a successful learner”. I embrace the opportunity of creating excellence in order to develop a strong educational foundation for our children.
At McCall Primary we believe that education is a partnership between school and home. Research supports that children whose parents participate in their education will learn more effectively. Your involvement also creates a happier child. I encourage you to become involved at McCall. Together we can provide the best education for your children.
Last year every child participated in McCall’s “One Million Word” campaign. By the end of the school year, each child had read one million words. It was an amazing school-wide accomplishment! Every participant at McCall realized that if you can read, you can become anything you want to be. We will continue this initiative for the 2008-2009 school year. So parents, get ready to read, read, read! You will be amazed how much you child will grow in their reading ability by spending 20 minutes a night reading with them.
I am looking forward to a school year filled with excitement and success. We have wonderful activities planned to not only create a strong academic environment, but also to create an atmosphere that your child will be excited to come. Please, along with your child, become a part of our school.
