Spring Is In The Air

Today was such a beautiful spring day! To celebrate this wonderful day we headed out for a quiet Sunday dinner picnic. Normally on Sunday’s the girls are all dressed up and always look so adorable. I thought it would also be a great opportunity to get some new portraits of the beauty queens. The lighting was perfect! I just couldn’t resist taking advantage of it.
Our dinner was a fun southern spread. Featuring yummy Fried Chicken, Potato Salad, Biscuits, and Chocolate Chip Cookies. Everyone loved their dinner and I was thrilled I got some new portraits of the girls!

Yummy Southern Fried Chicken (Paula Deen Style):
*oil in pan heated to 350 degrees
*boneless chicken breasts (I like boneless but you can always do any chicken you like)
*flour with lots of seasonings in it
*eggs and hot sauce (Texas Pete’s is the best)
Then all you have to do is soak your chicken in the egg/hot sauce mixture, coat in the flour mixture, and then throw it in the oil! You will know it is done when it is golden brown and crispy! I’m telling you this is the BEST fried chicken you will ever eat!

Creamy Potato Salad (Pam Vanderwalker)
*diced and boiled potatoes
*miracle whip
*little mustard
*little relish
Just add as much of each condiments as you like and taste along the way. I also like to add salt, garlic, pepper, and dill to mine.

Biscuits
Bisquick, of coarse or Pillsbury work just fine too.

Cookies
The pound of butter recipe is still my favorite!

What are some of your favorite springtime traditions? I think this will become ours!

***New portraits of the girls are on the “OUR PHOTOS” tab. Let me know which ones you like the best?!
